You need the following:
| 1. | to have one set of DB settings on all your sites in LocalSettings.php files;
|
| 2. | to have one set of fields for input, search and display forms;
|
| 3. | in case you have sites on one hosting, and the DB on another hosting, you will have to ask your sites' hosting to allow your sites to query a DB on another hosting. |
